In 2017, Powell’s Roofing & Siding had the opportunity to work with the Hillside Historical Soceity to replace the cedar shake roofing on the Woodruff House.
Wooden shingle roofs are essential elements of the historic buildings and homes in New Jersey. The previous roof of this building was severely deteriorated. Many of the wood shingles were eroded, cracked, cupped and split. The condition of the roof threatened the other wooden components of the building.
So we installed a new cedar shake roof to ensure the preservation of the appearance of the Woodruff House. Wooden shingle roofs need to be replaced somewhere between 15 to 60 years.
